What is it: An advanced wash for the face and body, designed to attack existing acne blemishes and help prevent new blemishes from forming.
Who is it for: Teens to adults, men and women with mild to moderate acne prone skin on both the face and body.
Why is it different: The creamy, foaming wash for the face and body is formulated with salicylic acid, a proven treatment for acne blemishes, as well as a light menthol scent. Mild exfoliating beads in a luxurious creamy base help to buff away dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft, smooth, and invigorated.
How do I use it: Apply a small amount to damp skin on your face or body and work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly. Can be used in place of renewing cleanser in the three-step regimen. If going outside, use a sunscreen. more info

WARNING – FAKE PRODUCT

This is NOT proactiv.
I repeat – NOT PROACTIV
This is a cheap Chinese rip off. It contains nothing that is in the original…the active ingredients are even different. Proactive uses medical-grade benzoyl-peroxide in all their products, including their cleanser. They use only top-notch. This…knock off is formulated with salicylic acid, a different commercial acne fighting ingredient.
The smell is different, the texture is different…they are not the same. This seller just slapped the name “Proactiv” on this bottle hoping they could sell their cheap acne treatment under a reputable name. The bottle wasn’t even sealed! It came loose in the package with it’s little pump attachment!
There is no way I would use this on my skin. No way.
I do, however, LOVE the original proactiv. That’s probably what was so irritating about this.

A highly effective ance treatment product, but…

Proaciv is a highly effective acne treatment brand but, here’s the catch – you have to keep at it. Firstly, it takes a few weeks before you see significant results. This is the case for any acne treatment product really – you just HAVE to be consistent and give it time. So, folks looking for a quick solution to their problem (i.e. – clearing up your skin in time for prom or a wedding, for example) will be disappointed.
Secondly, it is not a magic potion capable of “curing” acne. Once you stop using the product, your acne will return unless you take active steps to maintain the health of your skin. It is often believed that merely using a product can be the only change made to help your skin. Clear skin is about more than just using the right brands…. having clear skin is about understanding skin.
Overall, I’d say use this product if you can afford to consistently buy it. If you can’t, understand the ways to help keep your skin healthy since, if you don’t take those steps, it is HIGHLY likely be disappointed once you stop using Proactiv.
Side note: Do use all three components of the set if you can. Since it was formulated to work as a set, it is better to use it that way in the end.

I use this product along with my teenager and I love the economy size best. This works great as a gentle exfoliant and face wash; I got rid of the rest of our facewash.

I love the way this product cleanses. I live in a hot and humid climate and after a long day a quick shower with this product makes you feel feel clean and refreshed. Helps to prevent breakouts too.

Better than the cleansing solution!

I’ve been using Proactiv for about 10 years. I prefer the deep cleansing wash for my face (… and my shoulders) to the cleansing solution. I’ve used the cleansing wash for about 9 months, now, and follow it with the repairing lotion on my face. I guess because I’m a bit older now, the extra exfoliation from the deep cleansing wash really helps my facial skin to appear brighter and more youthful. Strangers literally stop me on the street to tell me how beautiful my skin is and to ask what I use. When I tell them that I have ACTIVE acne, they are dumbfounded. With consistent treatment over the years, I no longer have breakouts, nor the dark marks breakouts leave in their aftermath!
